James 1:2-4

Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”

Susan May Warren’s “My Foolish Heart” – Book Review

Susan May Warren’s My Foolish Heart follows the story of Isadora ‘Issy’ Pressley, who do to an accident has left her with PTSD and the inability to leave the direct vicinity of her house, where she broadcasts her nightly radio show giving advice to listeners about relationships and love, which Issy has not experienced herself.

Compassion Sunday is just around the corner!

April 10th is just around the corner and that means Compassion Sunday is upon us!!

I am asking that everyone should get their church involved in hosting a Compassion Sunday!

What is Compassion Sunday?

The purpose of this special, one-day event is to draw the attention of the Church to the needs of the world’s poorest children. It’s a powerful opportunity for God to use you to share with the members of your family His deep love for children – and show how each of us can intervene in the life of at least one child in poverty through sponsorship.”

There are so many hurting children out there, living on less than 2 dollars a day and barely able to survive! With your help we can make a difference in the life of a child!

Check out Compassion Internationals website to learn more about Child Sponsorship opportunities at www.compassioninternational.com

Throughout a Habitat for Humanity build there is one place in every house I that I love being in. No matter what house I’ve worked on it is always right before the decking on the roof goes up and just hanging out in the rafters.

This song gives me Hope and a reminder that no matter the damage God will always help us to rebuild!

Prayers for Japan

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” -Psalm 46:1-3

The news coming out of Japan today is devastating and the after shocks and tsunamis continue. I hope everyone will join in prayer to prayer for Japan and all the countries that are being hit by this destruction, as well as the families and people that have stepped up to aid in rescue and recovery and the long term recovery of these nations.

You can help to by supporting your local Red Cross Chapter www.RedCross.org

Also Habitat for Humanity Int. is preparing to access damage to be able to help in the rebuilding Habitat for Humanity
