Dark Halo By: Shannon Dittemore

Jake is missing, the fight above Stratus continues and Brielle has a meeting with the devil where she is offered a choice.  Brielle has a choice to make.  One allows her to see the celestial, and the other will take away her site. With a war happening above Stratus, it is becoming more tempting for Brielle to choose the devil’s halo, a halo that will allow her to no longer see the fear creeping throughout her town, the hurt of each individual.

With the third and final book in Shannon Dittemore’s Angel Eyes trilogy Brielle has a decision to make, and the town of Stratus has a choice. Much like the first two books Dittemore has an amazing ability to craft words together that make you feel as if you are watching a movie rather than reading a book. With the rich detail you will dream of seeing the Celestial and hearing the Sabre’s song. The final book will keep you glued to the pages and take you on the adventure of a lifetime. Dittemore has combined the young adult genre and her faith in God to tell a beautiful story that will also challenge you to consider the meanings of temptation and how powerful worship and prayer can be.

If you enjoy a good YA novel, the Angel Eyes Trilogy is a must read! I am sad to see Jake and Brielle’s story come to an end, but hope to see more from Shannon Dittemore soon.

Road Trip to Redemption By: Brad Mathias

Road Trip to Redemption By: Brad Mathias

After making a few mistakes Brad Mathias was determined to get everything right with his family, to gain control and to make everything work. Little did he know that as he was fighting for control and to get his children through their teen years everything was about to spin out of control. Having a teenage daughter that becomes moody and withdrawn, that begins coping an attitude with everyone seems to come with the ‘territory’ of being a teenager, but for Brad’s daughter this was far from the truth.

As his family spins out of control and Brad and his wife search for a way to make their family stronger, they decide that the best thing would be for the family to go on a road trip across the country. To have a time where they can reconnect with each other, and to find a greater trust in God.

Through this story Brad shares what he has learned from his experiences as his family is shaken with the news of a secret their daughter has been carrying around. Brad is honest about the everyday struggles that his family faced and teaches a valuable lesson about really paying attention to what is happening with each member of the family.

Brad Mathias has opened his heart and shares the story his family went through that includes some of the biggest fears that parents have today. This is a great book that gives you one persons story of how his family came back together and the trip that brought them to a new understanding and trust in God.
